Vodafone Ghana begins rolling out its 4G services to the general public, starting today, 19th March 2019.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) at the end of 2018 issued the 4G license to Vodafone Ghana. The Telecom Company got one slot of the 2x5MHz frequency megahertz spectrum in the 800MHz band for mobile services from the NCA.

The roll out of this service was supposed to start somewhere in the second quarter of this year. However, it seems to have been deployed earlier than expected. Vodafone will now become the second telecom operator in Ghana to run the 4G network, rivals MTN Ghana.

If you get a prompt that says your phone and SIM are both 4G ready, then you can start enjoying 4G services right away.

If the result indicates that your SIM is 4G ready but your phone is not, then it means that your phone does not support 4G or LTE services, you need to get a phone which supports.

However, if the result indicates that your SIM card is not 4G ready, you can visit any Vodafone shop to get a 4G SIM.
